During the holidays, Ms Jo Lindeman from our VET Department attended the official opening of the new world-class plumbing facilities at Alexandra Hills TAFE. Engineering and construction trade blocks were also upgraded, along with a new nursing and allied health facility. A $10 million investment by the Government.
Qld Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, Minister Di Farmer and Chief Health Officer, Janette Young were in attendance as well as numerous other government representatives.
“This is a wonderful investment for our VET students and there is more to come this year with an upgrade to the electro-engineering facilities and a new wet trade facility for brick and block-laying, tiling, painting and decorating. This as well as free TAFE and free apprenticeship programs means more local students will be able to gain qualifications at the Alexandra Hills TAFE Campus.” Ms Lindeman said.
Redlands College VET student, Jackson Edds, who is currently studying Certificate II in Plumbing at Alexandra Hills TAFE was also present at the opening and is one of a number of College students who are now benefiting from these new training facilities
