Redlands College presents Alice, an adapted twist on Lewis Carrol’s enduring classic Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. This contemporary reworking puts into focus some of the most important themes of our lives. Alice makes her way through character forming challenges, asking the question ‘why’.
Take the journey with Alice as she engages her natural curiosity in dealing with the difficulties of growing up and finding her identity in a confusing and contradictory ‘adult’ world. In a series of surreal excursions Alice inhabits and navigates a frightening yet ultimately liberating mindscape that lies between fiction and reality. In ‘waking up’ to the real world she recognises that her vivid imagination created an alternate reality that was nothing more than ‘a pack of cards’. It is the penetrating questions posed by the other characters that helps Alice grow up and come to terms with her true and abiding identity.
