Redlands College Cross Country (Rescheduled)

The Redlands College Cross Country Carnival for Prep to Year 12 students has been rescheduled for Wednesday, 17 April 2024. This decision was made in the interest of student safety, following wet weather and current forecasts. The schedule and race courses for each age group will remain unchanged.

Teddy Bears Picnic Adventures

Yesterday, our Prep students eagerly joined our Redlands families for a wonderful Teddy Bear’s Picnic in College Heart. The afternoon kicked off with a charming parade, where they proudly showcased their handmade crowns and beloved teddy bears. The day wrapped up with a cozy afternoon tea shared with families. A huge thank you to all the amazing teachers for their endless energy and creativity in making learning so much fun for our Prep students!

Family Resources : Defusing Explosive Children

Dr. Ross Greene’s philosophy, summarized in his book “The Explosive Child,” emphasizes that children behave well if they have the necessary skills. Lagging skills, such as flexibility, frustration tolerance, problem-solving, and emotion regulation, hinder a child’s ability to handle challenging situations, leading to withdrawal or explosions. Dr. Greene’s ‘Collaborative and Proactive Solutions’ framework guides parents in helping children develop these skills to effectively solve problems and navigate life’s challenges.

Family Resources : The Science Behind Raising Readers

In this issue, the importance of encouraging a reading habit at home for your child’s growth is emphasised. Dr. Justin Coulson suggests reading together and keeping books accessible to foster a love for literature. Leading by example and letting your child discover the joy of reading without pressure are highlighted. By nurturing this love early on, invaluable skills and endless adventures are provided for them.

Middle School Leaders Badging Ceremony

This morning, we celebrated the Middle School Leaders Badging Ceremony. Thank you Cr Wendy Boglary for presenting badges and recognising the achievements of our new Leaders. Certificates from 2023 added a memorable touch, highlighting our students’ accomplishments. Following the ceremony, parents and students came together for a delightful morning tea at Revive Cafe.
