YEAR 11 ANCIENT HISTORY

YEAR 11 ANCIENT HISTORY

We are excited that students have the opportunity to study Ancient History for Year 11, starting this term. The students visited the R.D. Milns Antiquities Museum at the University of Queensland the other day. They enjoyed a tour of the museum’s collection of artefacts from ancient societies, including evidence of Christianity. They then completed two workshops that allowed them to handle and study artefacts, including pottery and Roman coins. Now we know what the Bible means when referring to ‘denarius’ and’ give Caesar what is Caesar’s’ (Matthew 22:15-22). This excursion was run jointly with St Paul’s School, Bald Hills, and provided an opportunity for students and teachers to collaborate.
