During the September school holidays, several students took the opportunity to explore through work experience their interest area to see if it would be a good fit for them. These times allow students to experience what it is to work in a particular industry, see the types of tasks they would do, experience what a week in the life of an employee would look like.
Claré Kinnear – Wesley Mission Queensland and gained experience in a range of Allied Health areas.
Charlize Kinnear – Hummingbird House – Wesley Mission Qld and focussed on Physiotherapy
Thomas Bird – Saunders Havill Group enjoyed learning about surveying, mapping, plus more.
Tian-Yi Kao – Abel, Vincent and Dick with Alan Chang Alumni (1996), one of the partners. Tian-Yi received lots of practical opportunities to explore the application of what he has been learning in class and see the importance of understanding the fundamentals in bookkeeping, even in an electronic age.
Liana Litster – Birkdale Veterinary Clinic allowed Liana to see first-hand what is involved in all areas of working in a veterinary practice with some exposure to practical elements of day-to-day activities.
