URGENT | 10 HOST FAMILIES STILL NEEDED FOR JAPANESE EXCHANGE PROGRAM

URGENT | 10 HOST FAMILIES STILL NEEDED FOR JAPANESE EXCHANGE PROGRAM

We are seeking 10 more Redlands College families to host visiting Japanese students from 24 July – 5 August 2026.
You do not need to have a child studying Japanese to participate. This opportunity is open to all Redlands College families, regardless of your child’s age or year level.

Our visiting students, aged 15–16, are excited to experience Australian family life, and we would love to ensure every student has a welcoming home during their stay.

Why host?

  • Experience a meaningful cultural exchange from your own home.
  • Build lasting international friendships.
  • Give your family a unique insight into Japanese culture.
  • Help support future student trips to Japan and Spain, with a donation from the program going directly to reduce the cost of the trips.

What’s involved?

  • Providing a welcoming bedroom.
  • Supplying main meals during the student’s stay.
  • Transporting the student to and from the College each day.

Many host families say the experience is incredibly rewarding and that the friendships formed often continue long after the program has finished.

If your family can help, or if you would like more information, please contact Ms Mizuho Major (Senior Japanese Teacher) at mmajor@redlands.qld.edu.au.

Thank you for helping us make this special international partnership possible.
