The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award – Hiking
During the recent holiday, two groups of students hiked in Lamington National Park. They managed themselves and their equipment well to stay dry during the constant rain that fell during the first 24hours. They then “enjoyed” multiple river crossings to hike into a newly opened campsite, which we had to ourselves. Both groups have met all the preparation and training requirements of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award and will now complete a qualifying journey later this year. Thank you to Mr. Martin Zerk who gave up his holiday time to complete his own training course as well as accompany the Gold group on this journey.
