Host a Japanese Student: we need you!
WE NEED THE ASSISTANCE OF 4 MORE FAMILIES!
We’re thrilled to offer Redlands College families a special opportunity to host visiting Japanese female students from February 27 to March 6, during Term 1. These students, aged 15-16, will be here for just one week, and we need the support of 4 more volunteer families to make this cultural exchange a success.
Why host a student?
Hosting is open to all families—regardless of your child’s age and whether they study Japanese or not—and offers a meaningful way to experience a cultural exchange right from your own home. By welcoming a Japanese student, your family will:
- Develop a deeper understanding of Japanese culture.
- Build lasting international friendships.
- Broaden your family’s perspectives through firsthand cultural immersion.
Support for our school community
This exchange benefits not only your family but also our school. A monetary donation will be made to the school for this program, directly helping to reduce costs for upcoming student trips to Japan and Spain in April.
What’s involved?
Volunteer families will be expected to provide:
- A welcoming room for the student.
- Main meals during their stay.
- Transport to and from school each day.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students and families to connect, learn, and grow through a cross-cultural experience. Let’s make this visit unforgettable for both our students and their Japanese peers!
