Festive Fun for the Family this December

Redlands Coast Museum is celebrating the Christmas season with a wonderful line-up of family-friendly activities throughout December, offering plenty of fun for children and parents alike. The Museum’s Toy Hall of Fame will be transformed into a charming Santa’s Grotto, complete with sparkling decorations, Santa’s big red chair, and a cosy fireplace display. Children can also visit the Letter Writing Station to write their Christmas wishes and post them in Santa’s big red mailbox—ready for delivery to the North Pole. As part of Redland City Council’s Christmas on Redlands Coast program, families can enjoy an exciting Augmented Reality experience at the Museum. By using the CreativiTek App to scan festive decals, children can watch Surfing Santa appear right before their eyes—perfect for fun photos to share.
From 1–19 December, young visitors can join in the Elf on the Shelf Picture Scavenger Hunt, with six cheeky elves hidden among the Museum’s exhibitions. A range of Christmas craft activities will also be available, offering a great hands-on experience during the school holidays. The program concludes on 19 December with Christmas Cheer at the Museum, a festive celebration featuring live carols from the Redlands Rhapsody Chorus, a special reading of Mundy the Gnome’s Christmas Adventure, gingerbread man decorating, craft stations, an elf hunt, and a chance to meet Santa and Mrs Claus in their glittering Grotto.
Families are warmly invited to visit the Museum this December and enjoy a month filled with creativity, discovery, and Christmas magic.
