Drama Performance

This week the YR8 Drama students had the opportunity to flex their acting muscles for their friends, families and local community in the G2 Theatre. Their performances were the culmination of two Terms of hardwork and dedication.
While their performances were fun and engaging, the real challenge was to make their characters seem as realistic as possible whilst using the teachings from Constantine Stanislavski’s acting techniques; such techniques included: finding the beats of the scene, understanding the given circumstances, finding motivation in each moment onstage and more to achieve truthful acting.
We were delighted to see such a great turn out with the theatre teeming with an engaged and supportive audience. The students did an inspired job having memorised their lines, devised and rehearsed their blocking and unpacked the published play text to better understand the complexities of their characters.
Thank you to all involved, it was an incredible night!
