Creative Generation 2023

Creative Generation 2023

On Saturday, 22 April The Gallery of Modern Art hosted the opening of the 2022 Creative Generation for Excellence in Visual Art Award exhibition (C Gen). 30 student artworks from across Queensland are showcased. They were selected from over 500 entries. We are very proud that two of our 2022 alumni, Eloise Gilbert and Mikaylah Parker, have their artworks as
part of this exhibition. The C Gen exhibition will be on at GOMA until 6 August.

We congratulate Eloise and Mikaylah for their selection in the 2022 Creative Generation for Excellence in Visual Art Award exhibition.

At the official opening of C Gen, Mikaylah Parker was also given special mention by GOMA Senior Curator Simon Wright, as Mikaylah was also selected to be part of the 2022 Design Tracks program for Indigenous Students, also facilitated by GOMA. Mikaylah was the only student from that program to also be selected to be part of the C Gen exhibition.

We also acknowledge Annabel Milne, Year 11, who was selected for the Creative Generation In Residence
program at the end of 2022. Annabel was one of 20 students who were selected to be part of the 3-day
residency to work artist Rachel Mounsey. The students work on photographic processes, many of which have been collated into a book. Congratulations Annabel.
