We are so proud of Year 12 VET student, Evelyn Cordell, for winning the School-based Trainee of the Year at the 2022 Qld Training Awards (South East) on Friday night. Evelyn was closely contested by fellow finalist, VET student, Maddison Wilkie. Evelyn is passionate about health care and inspired by her sister’s experience living with disability. In 2021 Evelyn completed a Certificate II in Health Support Services and Certificate III in Health Services Assistance, making her a qualified Assistant in Nursing (AIN) before finishing school. She is now completing a school-based traineeship and will complete her Certificate III in Individual Support in November 2022. Evelyn is also the YMCA Queensland Youth Parliament Member for Redlands. Congratulations Evelyn on your outstanding achievement and congratulations to all the finalists and winners of the South East Queensland Training Awards.
