A report on the cross country season so far for 2023.

A big congratulations to all those athletes who competed for Redlands College in the past district and Christian schools Cross Country competitions.
For those students who have been training regularly before school, Mon, Wed, Fri mornings 7 – 8 am – your efforts have paid off with good performances.
(Remember, this training is available to all students 10 years and up and would be helpful for the upcoming athletics carnival).
The district carnival. The top three placegetters from the school carnival (10 yrs and up) competed at the flat grassy course at Capalaba Park.
There were 10 top 20 placegetters, 16 top top 10 placegetters and 6 top 3 placegetters.

The Christian Schools Carnival. The top 6 placegetters from the school carnival (9 yrs and up) competed at the very hilly and chilly Limestone Park Ipswich course.
There were 15 top 10 placegetters and 11 top 3 placegetters.

A huge congratulations to all those students who represented Redlands College and gave it their best. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed.
A special mention to the outstanding performance of the 15 year girls team. Shaniah Ferguson 1, Madison Burney 3, Mackenzie Briskey 5, Montana Slatter 7, Lara Randles 10. All 5 girls came in the top 10.
The top 10 placegetters at the district carnival went on to compete at the Met East carnival at John Paul College – Springwood. A fast and tough course against fierce competition.
Congratulations to Emma Burney, Madison Burney, William Cohen, Ethan Dart, Marley Dodd, Jacob Hunter, Emery Lawson, Emma Mossop, Shaniah Ferguson, Jordan Ferguson, Jacob Sands, Abigail Schipplock, Daniel Shannon, Rhianna Thompson for competing and putting in your best efforts. I am proud of your eagerness to compete and willingness to give it your all.

Many Cross Country opportunities are still available through www.qldathletics.com.au, with Cross Country events still held most Saturdays.
All Redlands College students, staff and families have a QRUN membership paid for them under the name “Redlands Runners” and can therefore compete in any Qld athletics club event.
